Kshitiz

Principle Investigator

Kshitiz’s interest ranges largely in understanding how cells interact with their immediate microenvironment, with a particular emphasis on the mechanical and physical aspects on the microenvironment. His recent work has been focused on developing methods to create a heart tissue from human cells for drug screening, drug discovery, and tissue engineering purposes. In addition, he works on understanding the mechanisms by which stem cells and cancer cells respond to the mechanical rigidity, and topography of their milieu, in addition to the physical factors, like oxygen availability.
